Granville Multipurpose Centre
A positive in 2020 for the community of Granville and the Cumberland City Council in Sydney was the opening of the Granville Multipurpose Centre.
This beautiful building and surrounding grounds designed by dwp | design worldwide partnership was a collaborative project with the community. Suitable for young and older residents, this state-of-the-art centre will be the only place in Sydney’s west to offer a hub for community, mentorship, business, and leisure under the one roof.
The centre includes a Library, Art Gallery and Pool, Multipurpose Hall, Co-Lab area (Music, Video, Recording and Production rooms), and various types of Meeting Spaces.
The konnectus team provided a full suite of audio-visual consulting services on the project. We started with a lengthy briefing process that enabled input and ideas from many different groups within the community. This was key to enabling us to incorporate the right design and functionality elements into each space.
The installed AV systems in the Multipurpose Hall and Art Gallery provide flexibility for many different types of events and functions.
The Co-Lab area has the infrastructure to enable creativity in music and video and is very popular with the artists in the area. Producers, editors, and artists can mentor aspiring talent, and music and digital enthusiasts can get together to collaborate.
Digital signage display screens and zoned audio for music and PA feature all throughout the complex – indoors and out. These systems really help create atmosphere at the Centre as well as enable clear communication and messaging.
