Accor’s Flagship Sydney Office Transformation
In 2024 Accor Asia Pacific set out to create a flagship workplace in Sydney’s iconic 1 Bligh Street building. They wanted 6-star-hotel aesthetics, frictionless collaboration technology, and a showcase space that would wow property owners and partners.
The brief demanded impeccable integration of advanced AV into the built environments, zero post-handover defects, and a unified experience across the boardroom, multiple meeting rooms, open town-hall zone and the unique immersive “Atelier” space. Legacy systems were dated and confusing; leadership wanted “one-touch” Teams calls and a seamless experience.
Konnectus led the engagement from initial needs analysis through to commissioning and user training. Working alongside the architects and services engineers we translated Accor’s vision into concept schemes, then detailed AV designs carefully coordinated to the millimetre with ceiling services and furniture finishes. Key design highlights included:
– Yealink Microsoft Teams Room packages standardised across all spaces for instant familiarity.
– A twenty-seat boardroom with twin large format displays, beamforming audio and discreet ceiling loudspeakers that preserve sight-lines.
– Town-hall presentation zone with dual display screens and distributed audio tuned for speech intelligibility.
– The circular “Atelier” featuring a 6.5 m panoramic interactive canvas (3 × 86″ touch displays) and 360° spatial audio for immersive ideation.
During construction our consultants performed staged site-acceptance tests. The team worked side by side in collaboration with the AV installers and Accor IT team to ensure all systems worked perfectly and were optimised for maximum experience. This included our proven process of documenting every result until the systems were certified 100% defect-free.
On day one Accor’s new AV solutions launched without a single support call. Staff reported a significant reduction in meeting set-up time, and the Atelier is now booked out weeks ahead for client workshops that previously had to be held off-site. Accor’s COO described the solution as “a hospitality-grade experience that makes collaboration effortless.”
