Sports and Exercise Campus at The University of Technology Sydney (UTS)
Students studying Sports and Exercise at The University of Technology Sydney (UTS), and researchers alike, were able to enjoy a brand-new home in a newly constructed state of the art facility that opened in 2018 in the Moore Park Precinct in Sydney. The iconic building is shared with Rugby Australia and located next to the Sydney Football Stadium.
UTS occupies the top 4 levels of the building. Two levels are dedicated to different types of teaching spaces and the other two levels are a mix of workspace, teaching space, and student breakout areas. The facility is a huge upgrade from the faculty’s previous location, and we are sure only great things will come from learning and research projects at UTS Moore Park!
AV technology features heavily in many of the teaching and learning spaces, as well as the expansive research areas. The faculty was keen to try some new teaching concepts in this project. There are TEAL spaces that enable high-definition video and audio content sharing between small pods of students. Different exercise and sporting equipment are connected to AV systems in other spaces. There is also a full basketball court with large LED screen that doubles as either a flexible teaching space or large presentation area to big groups of people.
The konnectus team started working on the project in late 2015 and over the course of the two and half years collaborated closely with the UTS designers, AVS team, architect, key faculty members, and the construction team. As with all UTS projects we have worked on, the university AV and ICT standards have been kept front and centre so that the systems are easy to use and maintain.
