The opportunity

Central Coast Council set out to create a flagship regional library for Gosford: a welcoming, tech-enabled place for learning, meetings, community programs and major civic events. The previous library had limited technology; this new facility needed intuitive AV that staff could run without specialist help, and that would scale for future needs.

Our role

konnectus was engaged from early 2022 to: run stakeholder workshops, set performance criteria, evaluate technology options, and produce the full AV design package (specifications, drawings, schematics). We managed the AV tender, supported the builder during construction, reviewed shop drawings/programming, and carried out independent witness testing before handover.

What we delivered

• Multiuse Hall: front-of-house PA with assistive listening, projection and confidence monitors, a 4-camera PTZ system with vision mixing for recordings/livestreams, stage patching, and simple presets for talks, performances and Council meetings (with portable conferencing units and camera follow).

• Meeting & program rooms (incl. combinable spaces): consistent user experience, wired and wireless presentation, BYOM or resident-PC video-conferencing, hearing augmentation where required.

• Children’s areas: a Reading Circle that can broadcast story time; an Interactive Zone with touch capability.

• Makerspace & Sound Studio: straightforward capture and editing workflows for community content creation.

• Digital signage & room booking: centrally managed content and at-a-glance availability across the building.

• Zoned PA & people counting: clear announcements and live occupancy insights for operations.

Results

The new library is a step-change for Gosford—hybrid-ready public events, flexible program spaces, and self-serve meeting rooms that “just work.” Staff now spend less time troubleshooting and more time running great programs for the community.
